Tuesday, March 14th - Turn Up The Bass!

Everything is underway. I really do mean everything. We've recorded some bass, some guitars (one guitar that sounds like an accordian!).. and even a vocal or two! I went into the studio yesterday evening and started laying down bass tracks. Jon from Rufio was rad enough to let me borrow his bass amplifier-head so I could have some options. More is better in the studio! I got a brand new Fender Jaguar bass that I used on a track... we'll see how that sounds! I finished tracking nine songs and passed the torch back to Peter and Nick to move ahead with guitars. I've gotta go to a wedding this weekend for my girlfriends sister. Why am I the wedding guy?! (Ghoul)

Thursday, March 9th - Move Along

Sup! Quick update from the studio! Here we are in the green room in south hollywood tracking away! Once the drums were finished, we brought everything back here and set up shop. It took about 4 days to get the drum tracks edited and ready for the instruments. We got hooked up and cruised by Gibson and Fender to pick out some guitars for the record. Our good friends at Mesa Boogie were kind enough to send down some amps for us to use as well! We got our set up on lock down and have been jammin ever since. We also had our homie from VA Gavin kickin with us this week which was rad! Guitars and Bass are cranked! The movement is on...This record is gonna be really fun, just ask this guy!!!! (Nicko)

Friday, March 3rd - Last Drum Day: Day 3!

The machine finished his tracks today! We split some of the songs up to acheive the feel of different drums for different parts. Dynamic is definitely a huge goal! Crazy thing happened: most of us were hanging out in the lounge and we heard these loud cracks coming from within the walls and ceiling. Before we knew it, one of the studio employees had come down through the ceiling and was stuck at his waist with his legs dangling. CRAZY! Most of today was finishing up sections, tracking cymbols for the few songs we tracked drums separately on, and getting samples of cool mike fasano gear! Once all the tracks were bounced from tape to the computer, we were finished! Made it out of SOund City around 9pm and cruised home. What an amazing experience! It felt like a dream the whole time! Cant wait to charge on and get these songs out there! (Nicko)

Thursday, March 2nd - Drums: Day 2!

Today James got most of his tracks done. After spending half the first day setting up and getting tones, today was just song after song. We have 22 new songs, and we are rerecording "Siren on the 101." This may or may not make the record... we'll see... We worked till about 11 pm then off to Hollywood for drinks! see you tomorrow! (Nicko)

Wednesday, March 1st - Day 1 Son!

This is James' time to shine! We treated ourselves very well and rented out Sound City in Van Nuys, California, just north of Hollywood. I was instantly starstruck walking into this place. You could feel the vibe coming off the walls. Tom Petty, Nirvana Nevermind, Johnny Cash, Pat Benetar, Bad Religion, Weezer and the list just goes on and on...We also had our friend Mike Fasano come in to drum tech! Hes so awesome to hang out with! In the control room we had Mike Green and our boy Pete, the in house analog tape engineer! We recorded all our drums to tape this time around which is a vintage style method. We hope our classic rock sound doesnt freak people out too much! Or hopefully it does freak you out!!! ;) (Nicko)

Everyday, February 7th - 28th - More Rehearsal...

We spent the bulk of February working on the new songs. Everyday we would go over ideas, practice songs and just let the creative energy flow. This part was really fun! We are giving our new songs lots of room to breathe! When it's all said and done we hope to have over 25 potential songs for the album. Still yet to be titled, we are very stoked for you to hear! (Nicko)

Monday, February 6th - Writing and Rehearsal

Hey guys! Since we've been home we've been hard at work preparing to record a new album. Every day we've been going into the studio to work on songs and rehearse. It's our hope to get 20+ songs ready to record by March. Of course, we're doing this record with our homie Mike Green and we've been jamming out at his new place in Little Ethiopia! Maybe we'll get lucky and find a gnarly Ethiopian to play on our record. What does Ethiopian music sound like!?? The next over it record will tell... kidding! (Ghoul)
